The Reception Hall is on the second floor of the Mountain House (175 High Street, which is the House with the balcony, where I live). If you are driving, and want to check in and unload before you park, stop in the uphill lane of High Street across the street from the Inn in front of the Rabbit Hole Restaurant. Please do NOT stop or even pause in front of the Mountain House, which is at the intersection of High Street and Public Way on the downhill side of High Street since you may be ticketed if you block this intersection even if someone is at the wheel of your vehicle. Stop ACROSS the street!
To enter, walk in between the two buildings – Mountain House and Heritage House – to the backside of the Inn. To the left of the entrance to the Reception Hall is a little black shelf that has a “Welcome Envelope” for each guest.
The envelope with your name contains keys for your room and the location of your room, which is either in the Mountain House or next door in the Heritage House at 179 High Street. The envelope also contains a summary of useful information, a feedback form, and a postcard of the Inn, that serves as an overnight parking permit to put on the dashboard of your vehicle so that your vehicle won’t be ticketed by the National Park Service (NPS).
Unless you advise otherwise at check-in, I will submit the charge for your room(s) using the credit card you used to register.
Check-out is at 11:00 a.m.
At check-out, please return the keys either to a staff member in person, or to the little metal cup on the Desk in the Café. Check your pockets and purses because a $20 fee will be charged for unreturned keys.
The Inn is located in the middle of the historic market district at the confluence of the Potomac River and Shenandoah River and has no on-site parking — so please very carefully read the Information about unloading and parking, provided on the website.

If pets are allowed in rooms, the pet fee is $50 for the first pet and $20 for each additional pet.
There will be a late checkout with a fee unless other arraignment has been made.
